What is Brazilian waxing?
Brazilian waxing is hair removal with warm wax, where the hair is removed together with the root. This page explains how the method works, who it suits and what matters before and after a treatment.

How it works
How waxing works
The difference to shaving is not the result on the first day, but what happens to the hair.

The wax surrounds the hair
Warm wax is applied thinly in the direction of growth and surrounds every hair shaft down to the upper follicle. As it cools it hardens and bonds with the hair.

The hair comes out with the root
When pulled off, the hair comes out of the follicle completely – instead of a cut stump an empty root remains. That is why no stubble edge forms as after shaving.

The follicle starts over
Because the root is gone, the follicle has to start a new growth cycle. That takes several weeks, during which the skin stays smooth. With regular waxing the hair grows back finer.

Who Brazilian waxing suits
Waxing is suitable for women and men, whatever the age. What matters is that the skin is healthy and the hair has grown long enough. If you have sunburn, open skin, acute irritation or had laser treatment shortly before, please talk to us first – the same applies to medication that makes the skin more sensitive.

What matters before and after the appointment
How long does the hair need to be for waxing?
About 3 to 5 millimetres. If you normally shave, leave two to three weeks between the last shave and the appointment – then the wax can grip the hair properly.
How do I prepare for the appointment?
Do not use cream or oil on the skin before the appointment. On the day of the treatment, avoid sun or sauna directly beforehand if possible. Comfortable clothing is pleasant because the skin can be sensitive afterwards.
What should I keep in mind after the treatment?
Avoid sun, sauna, swimming pool and intense sport for the first 24 hours. Care for the skin with a calming lotion. Exfoliate only after about a week so that no hair grows in.
Is waxing painful?
Pulling off is a short tug. Because the hair is removed at the root, it becomes more comfortable with every regular treatment – many find the treatment clearly less unpleasant after a few appointments.
When should you not have waxing?
With sunburn, open skin, acute skin irritation or laser treatment shortly before, please talk to us first – the same applies to medication that makes the skin more sensitive. A short talk before the appointment clarifies this fastest.
Which types of Brazilian waxing are there?
The shapes differ in how much hair is left. With the bikini line the hair at the edge is removed and the pubic area stays. With the Brazilian Triangle a triangle remains, with the Brazilian Landing Strip a narrow strip. With the Hollywood Cut everything is removed, on request including the butt crease.
What does Hollywood waxing mean – and how does it differ from Brazilian?
Hollywood and Brazilian both describe complete hair removal in the intimate area. With the Hollywood Cut everything is removed, including the butt crease. Brazilian waxing is the general term for the different shapes and can also mean that a strip or triangle is left. We agree beforehand what you would like.
Waxing for men: what is treated?
For men we offer the same areas as for women – for example back, chest, abdomen, underarms, arms, legs, shoulders and nape, plus the intimate area up to the Hollywood Cut. The individual areas and prices are in the price list under “For men”.
What does Brazilian waxing cost?
The bikini line starts at €15, the Hollywood Cut without butt crease is €27, with butt crease €37 – those are the prices for women. For men, the intimate area is listed at €45. All other areas and prices are in the price list; before the treatment we agree on what will be done.
